- Alternate Universe (often abbreviated as "AU") is a descriptor used to characterize fanworks which change one or more elements of the source work's canon. For example, "no petrification", "vampires", "omegaverse" are considered AUs.A Canon Divergence is a specific Alternate Universe which describes an universe that diverges narratively from the canon of the manga/anime. The changes made to the canon are usually like "What if character X lived instead of died?" or "What if character Y didn't meet character Z until later?" For example, "Different First Meeting" or "The America Colony wins against Kingdom of Science" are Canon Divergence AUs.As such, your piece must set in an universe that matches those requirements. Any unfitting piece will be reviewed by the mods and they will work with contributors on modifying it.
